"Lutherstübchen"

30 seats

Alongside Goethe, Luther is also accorded the honour of a room named after him, as he was also a very significant guest in Auerbachs Keller. The founder of Auerbachs Kellers, Heinrich Stromer von Auerbach, was one of the enlightened, progressive citizens of 16th century Leipzig. The controversial reformer Martin Luther of Wittenberg was a friend of Stromer. In order to protect himself from his enemies in Leipzig, Luther would favour secure places on his visits to Leipzig, such as the Auerbach house.

The small historic restaurant still radiates a feeling of security and comfort to this day. The "Lutherstübchen" offers the ideal atmosphere to relax after a difficult day or long journey.
